Purpose
To evaluate patient satisfaction and quality of life with a UV-light adjustable lens.

Methods
Randomized study to have either the Light Adjustable Lens (LAL: Calhoun Vision) implanted or a commercially available, posterior chamber, non-accommodating, monofocal IOL implanted. Only one eye in each subject will be implanted with either the LAL or the control IOL. The refractive goal was emmetropia in all eyes.

Results
Over 80% of my LAL patients are seeing 20/20 or better. Over 85% of my LAL patients reported their vision as an “8” or higher (out of 10) without glasses (10 being the highest possible satisfaction).

Conclusion
In over 30 LAL patients were satisfied with their vision.
