Glaucoma filtering surgery can be made a simpler, more effective, less fibrogenic technique by a simple variation in the established technique of trabeculectomy. A single stab entry working on a compromised tunnel principle can give effective filtration and good lowering of IOP.  Absence of conjunctival dissection induces less scarring and fewer chances of failure while at the same time leaving more virgin conjunctiva intact. We have had excellent results with this technique.
