Narrative Responses:

Purpose
To detect the difference between aspheric and aspherotoric elevation maps using placido –Schiemflug camera in normal and keratoconus patients.

Methods
960 eyes from 500 patients undergoing screening for keratorefractive surgery were included. Placido-schiemflug pictures (Sitius, CSO, Italy) were examined for anterior and posterior elevation maps using the aspheric and aspherotoric float

Results
120 keratoconic eyes showed weak correlation between both the aspheric and aspherotoric floats in the posterior elevation maps. While in the 840 normal eyes there was a strong correlation in both anterior and posterior elevation maps

Conclusion
The use of aspherotoric fitting surface gives more data in eyes with ectatic pathology and its use is mandatory in screening.
