Narrative Responses:

Purpose
To assess the safety and efficacy of the use of Ologen as an adjunct in Ahmed Glaucoma Drainage Device (GDD) implantation in a patient with uveitic glaucoma

Methods
This is a case report of a 77-year-old male with a history of uveitic glaucoma who underwent Ahmed GDD surgery in conjunction with Ologen after failing medical treatment.

Results
The Ahmed GDD in conjunction with Ologen was successful in controlling our patient’s uveitic glaucoma. No postoperative complications or side effects were noted after four months of follow-up.

Conclusion
GDD failure may result from fibrosis of the conjunctiva and tenons capsule surrounding the GDD. Patients with uveitic glaucoma may have a higher rate of postoperative inflammation following GDD implantation. The Ologen implant appeared to be a safe adjunct to Ahmed GDD implantation in this case.
