Purpose
Cylinder Prediction Error with Intraoperative Aberrometry vs. Standard Astigmatism Calculator for a New Toric IOL

Methods
Thirty eyes were implanted with a new toric IOL (Trulign, Bausch + Lomb).   The cylinder power and predicted postoperative refraction were calculated using the astigmatism calculator provided by the manufacturer of this IOL and compared to the proposed cylinder power and residual astigmatism predicted by an aphakic intraoperative aberrometry measurement using the WaveTec ORA System with streaming refractive data( VerifEye). Postoperative manifest refractive cylinder was compared to the predicted cylinder error using each method.

Results
Preoperative keratometry indicated mean corneal astigmatism of 1.75 ± 1.00 D.  Postoperatively, the mean manifest refractive cylinder was 0.06 ± 0.17 D.  IOL selection and cylinder prediction error results for 30 eyes will be presented.

Conclusion
With the addition of streaming refractive data, intraoperative aberrometry allows for very accurate cylinder power selection and toric IOL positioning, reducing the prediction error and improving refractive results with a new toric IOL.
