Purpose
Clinical evaluation of the Tecnis ZKB00, (AMO, USA) multifocal intraocular lens with +2.75 D near addition.

Methods
The ZKB00 multifocal intraocular lens with a near addition of +2.75 D was implanted during refractive lens exchange. Follow up examinations included: monocular and binocular uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA), corrected distance visual acuity (CDVA), uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA), distance corrected near visual acuity (DCNVA) and corrected near visual acuity (CNVA).

Results
Two weeks after surgery, the monocular UDVA of the right eye was 0.1 [logMAR] and that of the left eye was 0.1 compared to the preoperative monocular CDVA  of 0.1. Postoperative monocular UNVA of the right eye  was 0.15, that of the left eye was 0.15 and binocular UNVA was 0.05. The patient was very satisfied with the outcome.

Conclusion
The ZKB00 multifocal IOL with a lower near addition provides good functional results after surgery with a high percentage of spectacle independence and patient satisfaction. Still further studies with higher numbers of patients are needed
