Purpose
Intrastromal corneal inlays are an emerging treatment for presbyopic patients.  They have been shown to improve uncorrected near and intermediate visual acuity without adversely affecting uncorrected distance visual acuity. Due to the age of presbyopic patients they may eventually develop cataracts.

Methods
Prospective descriptive interventional case series. Two cases of cataract folllowing corneal inlay insertion. Outcome measure, best corrected visual acuity, uncorrected distance visual acuity, uncorrected near visual acuity, intraocular complications.

Results
We found that cataract surgery with the corneal implant left in situ, was not technically more difficult, and that the surgical procedure could be improved by additional ocular rotations to improve visualization.Wide pupil dilation was recommended preoperatively.Biometry readings were reliable, and it appeared that the SRKT formula was accurate for calculation of intraocular lens power.

Conclusion
Cataract surgery with a corneal implant left in situ is a viable option for patients.
