Narrative Responses:

Purpose

To evaluate the association between the flat corneal curvature and the visual function after refractive surgery.

Methods
122 patients with high myopia (>8D) were enrolled in this study.Patient’s age, sex, refractive status and keratometry were obtained. Then 6 months post refractive surgery: corneal topography will be acquired along with visual acuity and contrast sensitivity were evaluated. The degree of change in keratometry and the degree of flat cornea was assesed in relation to visual acuity and contrast sensitivity to determine how would flat cornea affect the visual function.

Results
There was significant affection of contrast sensitivity in relation to the flat cornea > 35D.

Yet visual acuity did not differ significantely with the degree of flat cornea or the difference of pre-post oeperative keratometry.

Conclusion
Flat cornea > 35 affects the quality of vision after keratorefractive surgery.
