Narrative Responses:

Purpose
To evaluate a new multifocal intra-ocular lens

Methods
The aim of this prospective study is to evaluate efficacy, safety of a new multifocal intra-ocular lens. During cataract surgery, we implante a new intra-ocular lens with extended depth-of-focus. This IOL has an axiconic shape. It transforms an input imaging beam to a line of foci and not to 2 ou 3 foci like others multifocal IOL. This line of foci allows near and intermediate and far vision. We performed this surgery in 124 eyes of 62 patients. All patients had cataract and we will present the patients status.

Results
We will present results in far and intermediate and near vision in all patients. We will explain how does work this lens and why it doesn't generate halos or glare images. We will present the visual acuity evolution and the capsular opacification risk. Furthermore, we will show the defocalisation curve and the contrast sensitivity curve of this IOL.

Conclusion
In conclusion, we think this new lens isn't another multifocal IOL but an evolution of the management of the visual acuity after cataract surgery without glasses.
