Purpose
Conduct an analysisofthe therapeutic resultsof patients whohave undergonecorrectionof PresbyopiabinocularINTRACOR®systeminProvidenceEye Clinic,over a period oftwo years.TheCircularintrastromalkeratotomyis an innovativetherapeutic techniqueto correct presbyopia.This procedurecauses thecorneato becomehiperprolata, increasingdepth of focusfornear.
Methods
We performed a prospective randomized clinical trial with therapeutic procedure for presbyopia INTRACOR® in 200eyes with binocular surgery, the average age of the study subjects was 53+/-3.0 years .Patients were included only healthy , pure presbyopic without ametropias attached.
Results
Thepreoperativespherical equivalentwas 0.55+/-0.27D.Thepre-and post-operativecylinderwas +/-0.5D.Adding aboutaverage was+2.25+ /-0.25D.Theuncorrectednear visioninthe treated eyesincreased fromJaeger(J)7presurgeryJ1+/-0.5in the first weekby 90%,theuncorrected distancevisioninthe treated eyeswas0, 9 +/ -1pre-surgical andin the first weekwas 0.8+ / -1to 85%or better.Finallyat 24 monthsdistance visionremains at0.8on a85%or betterandJ1closeto 95%.100%of treated eyesat24 monthshasJ3fornear orbetter.
Conclusion
Real INTRACOR® delivers a solution to pure presbyopic patients olderth an 45 years, is a non-invasive, pain-free, normal activities recover abilityof the subjects at 24 hours after surgery. All subjects improved more than 5 or 6 lines near vision main objective of the technique.
