Purpose
This study evaluates the visual outcome of myopic presbyopes treated with LASIK and monocular implantation of a small aperture corneal inlay.

Methods
This is a retrospective analysis of myopic presbyopes from the global KAMRA™ data registry (AcuFocus, Irvine, CA). Visual outcomes were studied in a series of 382 myopic presbyopes. The pre-operative spherical equivalent refraction varied between -0.75D to -12.50D.  Both eyes were treated with a LASIK correction.  The dominant eye was targeted for plano and the non-dominant eye was targeted for -0.75D.  The inlay was then implanted in the non-dominant eye. Uncorrected visual acuities at distance, near and spherical equivalent refraction were measured.

Results
In the inlay-implanted eye, mean spherical equivalent refraction changed from -3.04D ± 1.80D preoperatively to -0.87D ± 0.75D at 6 months postoperatively. Preoperatively, uncorrected distance vision was 0.23 ± 0.25 decimal (20/87). At 6 months postoperatively, it was significantly improved to 0.67 ± 0.27 decimal (20/30, p <.0001). Uncorrected near vision improved from 0.52 ± 0.29 decimal (20/39) preoperatively to 0.80 ± 0.24 decimal (J2 or 20/25) 6 months postoperatively (p <0.0001).

Conclusion
Combining LASIK and implantation of a small aperture inlay enhanced significantly improved near and distance vision in the inlay eye of myopic presbyopes.
