Narrative Responses:

Purpose
Investigate if that any phrophyphylactis effects about cystoid macular edema with using 2 nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDS) eyedrop, Acular (Ketrolac Trometamina) Allergan and Nevanac (Nepafenac) Alcon preoperative and postoperative cataract surgery.

Methods
Prospective randomly study. All patients had cataract on sliplamp in both eyes and logmar 0.2 or worse in the best correct visual acuity. Exclusion criteria was other acular pathologies. Inclusion criteria was age >55 years, with cataracts without other ocular pathology. Every patient was operated on by the same surgeon. For discovered if it have cystoid macular edema, was used macula OCT. The protocol is macular OCT (Hieldelberg Spectralis), measure the best vision acuity with and without correction, pentacam to measure pachymetry and specular microscopy to see endothelial cell count preoperative before eyedrop use, 7-days, 1-month and 3-months after surgery.

Results
This research was approved for ethic and research committee. Initially, the research was designed with 50 eyes each group, a Nevanac group, Acular, other and another with artificial tear, however so was able to study 97 eyes. All patients started using the drops 2 days before surgery, four times a day until 1 month after surgery. It was observed in all groups for the first 7 days after surgery a small macular edema and slight thickening of the macula. After a month, it has become no statistical significance, not changing the prognosis of the visual quality of the patient.

Conclusion
Even knowing that topical NSAIDs eyedrop is effective for treating macular edema cystoid, it was observed that was not get to prove that nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory have prophylactic effects in cystoid macular edema.
