Narrative Responses:

Purpose
The aim of the study was to evaluate the quantitative and qualitative vision of the patients 8 years after the multifocal lenses -ReStor, Alcon- implantation.

Methods
We evaluated 60 eyes of 30 patients, 15 women and 15 men. We evaluated BCVA before the surgery and UCVA 8 years after the surgery, the objective refraction before and 8 years after the surgery, intraocular pressure before the surgery and 8 years after the surgery, posterior capsule opacification and the YAG capsulotomy percentage. We measured OCT 8 years after the surgery. We asked patients about the subjective satisfaction.

Results
The mean BCVA before the surgery was 0.90+/- 0.18 [0.25; 1.0], UCVA 8 years after the surgery was 0.92+/- 0.14 [0.4; 1.1].  The objective cylinder increased from -0.35+/- 0.59 [-2.25; -0.25]  to -0.54+/- 0.29 [0; -1.5] D 8 years after the surgery. There were realized 61 % of YAG capsulotomies 8 years after the surgery. The mean time of YAG capsulotomies realization was 3 years after the refractive lens exchange. 15 % complained about reading PC and 40 % had problems with reading in dimness. Glare and halo observed 20 % of patients. The average evaluation in scale 1-10 was 8.5.

Conclusion
The implantation of the multifocal lenses is safe method even 8 years after the surgery.
