Synopsis & Educational Value
Converting to ICD-10 diagnosis coding could be the most difficult challenge facing ophthalmology ever. Knowing what is involved in converting from ICD-9 to ICD-10 and understanding the need for additional training and improved chart documentation is critical.  This course will help identify the importance of the technician's and nurse's role in the conversion process with regard to chart documentation and avoiding costly documentation errors that could result in claim denials.

Learning Objectives
Attendee will identify differences between ICD-9 and ICD-10 and determine timeframes for when additional training may be needed to comply with ICD-10 requirements.
