Posterior capsule preservation is not the absolute requirement for successful cataract surgery anymore. Instead, the “in-the-bag" procedure for cataract surgery is much more important. The importance of making an ideal capsulorhexis is increasing in modern cataract surgery. In addition, cleansing the posterior capsule as completly as possible is also very important especially for maximizing the function of modern premium intraocular lens.
