Visco Capsule Guard
Purpose
Breaking posterior capsule during phacoemulsification will cause the serious complications such as dropped nucleus, secondary glaucoma and retinal detachment. Preventing the capsule tear, we innovated new technique.
Methods
After CCC and hydrodissection, we inject strong viscoelasitc material between posterior capsule and nucleus to guard the posterior capsule and prevent a tear of the posterior capsule during phacoemulsification.
Results
After performing this new technique, we have performed over ten thousand cataract phacoemulsification surgeries, we didn't experience any posterior capsule tear during phaco procedure.
Conclusion
This Visco Capsule Guard technique is useful to prevent a tear of the posterior capsule during the phacoemulsification procedure.
