Combined Corneal Inlay and LASIK Procedure Complicated by Pseudomonas Aeruginosa Bacterial Keratitis

Purpose
To report a case of combined corneal inlay and LASIK procedure complicated by Pseudomonas Aeruginosa bacterial keratitis.

Methods
This is a single case report of pseudomonas aeruginosa bacterial keratitis in a combined corneal inlay and LASIK procedure.

Results
We report the clinical outcome of this patient including uncorrected distance visual acuity (UDVA) and uncorrected near visual acuity (UNVA) and overall clinical recovery and patientt functioning. At 2 months post initial presentation UDVA was 0.2 (decimal), and UNVA was 0.25 (decimal). Further results to follow.

Conclusion
Bacterial keratitis is a potantially devestating complication of any refractive surgery. This case highlights the potential risk of infection following keratorefractive surgery and stresses the importance of prompt and intensive treatment to avoid serious adverse consequences.
