Course 19-102  Data-Driven IOL Calculations

Sunday, April 19, 2015: 8:00 AM-9:30 AM
Room 6B (San Diego Convention Center)

Course Description
Course will present an overview of recently developed algorithms for selecting IOL power using large datasets rather than traditional closed formulas based on vergence calculations. The concept of models for calculation will be presented, and new models using radial basis functions with a validating boundary model and MCMC probability will be introduced. These models will be applied to the problem IOL calculations, (long/short eyes, post-refractive surgery, DSEK/IOL) and possible ways to reduce outlier results discussed.
