Course 19-306 Successfully Managing Post-Keratoplasty Astigmatism
Sunday, April 19, 2015: 1:00 PM-2:30 PM
Room 7A (San Diego Convention Center)
Course Description
Course will cover options to manage astigmatism after keratoplasty. Despite a clear corneal graft, visual recovery is often suboptimum due to high astigmatism. Management techniques include special contact lens fitting; relaxing incisions and compression suturing; modern laser refractive surgery, including custom surface ablation or LASIK; and lens-based surgery. Intraoperative techniques to minimize postoperative high astigmatism will be shown. A variety of clinical cases will be presented with each aspect of management to enable discussion and audience interaction.
