Video demostrates a technique for nucleus division without rotating the crystalline lens. After CCC, the upper portion of the nucleus is removed semicircularly, and longitudinal trench is made in the lower portion of the nucleus similar to the shape of an umbrella. The lower nucleus is divided longitudinally using the tip of the phaco handpiece and chopper. Vertical divide is made on both sides of the remaining lens.  The lens is divided into 4 quadrants without rotating the crystalline lens.
