Three hundred twelve eyes with cataract and corneal astigmatism less than 1.0 D were evaluated. The main clear corneal incision was placed at the steepest meridian in all cases. In 44 eyes with corneal astigmatism between 0.5 D and 1.0 D, the femtosecond laser was used for arcuate and main corneal incisions. Keratometric astigmatism, postoperative spherical equivalent, refractive cylindrical and spherical diopters were significantly reduced after surgery.
