Notches and flanges on a single strand of nylon form a thin, single plane device that can be inserted through a 0.9 mm (20G) incision. The hexagonal device requires less room than a square. A round pupil is maintained. Floppiness and billowing of the iris is dampened by the flanges. Removal is smooth and easy with no snagging of the incision.
