Soft cataract is characterized by minimally dense endonucleus with soft cortical material. Because of this, it is difficult to crack or chop and may lead to unwanted posterior capsule complications. Different techniques that can be successfully used include simple aspiration, stop and chop, and chip and flip. We have developed a nuclear cracker that can easily crack the soft cataract. This is useful especially for the beginners.
