Narrative Responses:

Purpose
To evaluate and compare the optical, functional outcomes, contrast sensitivity, independence of glasses and patients' satisfaction after Implantation of trifocal FineVision IOL (Physiol, Belgium).

Methods
In a prospective consecutive case study from August 2011 –May 2013 we performed a bilateral implantation of the Fine Vision IOL in 44 eyes of 22 patients. We evaluated uncorrected (UCVA), best corrected (BDVA) visual acuities for distance, UCVA for intermediate and near. Reading speed using Radner Charts and contrast sensitivity three and twelve months after implantation was examined. The quality of vision, glare, halos, glasses independence and the personal satisfaction of the patients was assessed with a validated questionnaire.

Results
After 3 months, mean UCVA for distance was 0,74 the BCVA 0,84 with mean correction -0,35 D. After one year the mean UCVA for distance was 0,81 the BCVA 0,9 with correction -0,25 D. After 3 months, intermediate visus was 0,82,the near 0,88 after 12 months the intermediete 0,82, the near 0,89 .After 3 months 10% experienced halos, after 12 months only 5%. After 3 months 90% of patients were independent of the glasses, 10% needed glasses temporally, after 12 months 5 % . 80% of the patients were very satisfied, 20% satisfied, after one year 86%.

Conclusion
The twelve months results after the implantations of trifocal Fine Visio in comparison with 3 months results show improvement in distance corrected and not corrected distance visual acuity ,slight improvement in near visus with  increase of the reading speed. After 12 months the perception of halos decreased.
