F148 Refractive Nightmares

Femtosecond laser flap creation is a popular procedure today owing to the increased accuracy and safety over mechanical microkeratomes.  Video demonstrates complications seen in eyes with femtosecond laser (Ziemer LDV Z6) and Moria MK in a series of 300 patients over 6 months.  Incomplete flap, incomplete side cut, decentered flap, inferior hinge, flap tear, flap bleed, and vertical gas breakthrough were encountered. Various tactful ways were applied, thereby achieving perfect outcomes.
