Sticky Situation

A small PCR was noted after the last fragment. The aspiration tip inadvertently created a zonular dialysis. The reflux was not working, the machine was repeatedly tuned with new cassettes, and physical separation of capsule from tip failed. Finally, an assistant pushed an OVD through the aspiration handpiece, slowly releasing the capsule from the tip, and the anterior vitrectomy was done. A rigid 6.0 mm IOL was placed over the anterior capsulorhexis, and the wound was sutured.
