Video demonstrates strategies to prevent rhexis run off in intumescent cataracts. A tense anterior capsule associated with high intralenticular pressure carries the risk of running away to the periphery. Decreasing the intralenticular pressure to relieve the tension of the anterior capsule is critical in achieving a successful CCC in these swollen lenses. This video highlights certain surgical strategies which ensure decompression of the swollen cataract and a controlled capsulorhexis.
