F32 Shallow Anterior Chamber During Phaco: 3-Step Cutoff
Friday, April 25, 2014
The shallow anterior chamber is a challenge for phaco surgery. A new guideline is suggested after this prospective study. The IOLMaster reading of the anterior chamber was used as the guide. For cases with a depth of 2.6 to 2.5 mm, the proper use of OVD was enough to control the case. For anterior chamber shallower than 2.5 mm to 2.3 mm, intravenous mannitol was given. For anterior chamber shallower than 2.2 mm, the use of anterior vitrectomy seemed mandatory as illustrated in the film.
