Video shows use of a prolene device, insertable through a 2.8 mm incision and flexible enough to divide a moving nucleus. Case 1, a post trabeculectomy hypermature cataract with fibrotic anterior capsule and Case 2, an intumescent hypermature cataract. Both cases with imperfect capsulorhexis. Nucleus was moved into anterior chamber, bisected with the prolene lasso. Phacoemulsification completed under viscoelastic cover.
