North-South-East-West: Improving Toric IOL Axis Alignment

There are several devices available to indicate the correct axis of alignment for a Toric IOL during cataract surgery. This video describes the development of a new method which utilizes the sophisticated gyroscope and accelerometer sensors in a modern smart phone to measure a true reference axis from which the required Toric IOL alignment axis can be determined.
